I’m a 90’s kid, and most 90’s kids know that the kids TV shows of today are absolute garbage compared to the options we had back then.
Think back to the late 90’s kids horror show, “Goosebumps”. Now that was a show! I had already become a fan of the author R.L. Stine, thanks to his “Goosebumps” books. I despised reading as a kid, but I never minded reading a good “Goosebumps” book in grade school. I can probably attribute my love for horror to R.L. Stine, who captured my interest in the genre at a single digit age. Todays kids TV shows seem so adolescent and ridiculous. Kids need a show with a solid plot, relatable characters, and some twists rather than random, insignificant events. “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour” does just that. This show brings to modern day television what “Goosebumps” brought to us in the late 90’s.
“The Haunting Hour” reminds me so much of “Goosebumps” and some of the shows are even new and improved versions of the original “Goosebumps” episodes. Having started in 2010 with the first season, the fourth season of “The Haunting Hour” aired just this past October. I think this show is the disaster relief that today’s kids television needs. It has the feel of a classic 90’s show with the quality and graphics of todays more modern world. Season 1 is currently on Netflix for those who are members. I’d highly recommend this show to the kids of the world who are currently doomed to watch the junk that is aired on television today. It doesn’t matter if your old or young, we all deserve some good quality entertainment!
